LaJoya is the Founder of Black Educated Lesbians, a nonprofit established on September 10, 2014.

Their mission is to empower professional Black lesbians through engaging discussions, impactful community service, and exciting events.

They foster unity, sisterhood, and excellence within their community by facilitating in-person and virtual meet-and-greets and supporting members regardless of location. To deepen connections, they have over 20 subgroups and local chapters.
